A finalist of the 2007 edition of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge, music director Bappi Lahiri had called Mauli the 'Indian Shakira' because of her amazing screen presence.
Later, she hosted the musical show on Zee TV -- Rock N Roll Family -- and recently shot for a tele film called Ek Anhoni for Zoom TV.
